We at Christopher Rawlinson & Co. place a high importance on the safeguarding of personal data. This policy outlines, in plain English, how we manage personal data gathered during the operating of our Estate Agency.
If a visitor requires, at any time, further clarification on this policy we can be contacted at the details shown at the bottom of this policy.
In this policy, “we“, “us“, “our” and “the company” refers to Christopher Rawlinson & Co. The terms “the website” and “our website” refer to the website found at https://www.christopherrawlinson.co.uk. The terms “client(s)“, “customer(s)” and “visitor(s)” refer to users of the website.
We are an Estate Agency based in Harrow, UK. We offer Estate Agency services to buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants of property within our catchment area. To carry out these services it is required that we hold a limited amount of personal data relating to our clients to effectively assist in the purchase, sale or rental of properties. We are not in the business of information exchange or trade and as such will never disclose any personal details of our clients to any other company, body or individual, other than those necessary for the proper administration of the company as described within this policy.
Our website contains three areas where visitors can offer personal information, including contact information and property details, to the company in order to carry out the services the visitor requires. The data requested is limited to the information required for us to complete the duties being requested by the visitor and to maintain the proper administration of our business.
The data collected in these three sections is not stored on this website or the server on which it runs. Instead the data is transferred to our office via 128bit encryption and entered into our in-house software by an employee. Our in-house software has no publicly available access.
Before exchanging this data with us the visitor will be requested to provide consent for us to store this information in the manner described in this policy, and to state that they have read and agree with the terms laid out in this policy.
A cookie is a small file that is stored on the device the visitor is using while visiting the website. The purpose of cookies is to temporarily store data so that the website can recall certain settings or choices the visitor has previously made. This prevents the visitor from having to make the same choices each time they visit a different page on the website.
Although this website uses cookies, as is the case for the proper functioning of most all websites, these cookies do not store any of the visitor’s personal information released to us. The purpose of the cookies is to temporarily store which actions this visitor has already taken on the website so that subsequent actions provide the visitor with a logical experience while navigating the website.
In addition, cookies may be stored to enable the website performance analysis required for monitoring and improving our website and services as described in the Google Analytics section below.
The cookies automatically expire after a limited time, but if the visitor wishes to not allow for cookies to be created they can adjust the settings of their web browser to do so.
When someone visits the website we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site on the basis of monitoring and improving our website and services. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
Full details can be found at Google’s privacy policy.
The personal data provided to us through the use of this site is solely used for the purposes of carrying out the duties required as Estate Agents. It will not, or ever, be used for any other purposes.
We use the information to inform the client on the services that they asked us to provide; to contact the client if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that the client is happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
Client data is stored on the internal software we use to manage our business activities, Dezrez/Rezi. This software and its data is not publicly accessible and is not linked to this website. Even so, you can read Dezrez’s privacy policy.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver any necessary client emails. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our services. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. Clients can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by contacting us at the details shown at the bottom of this policy.
With the exception of the terms above, we do not disclose client personal data with any company, body or individual outside of the company.
Clients are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. To do so please contact us by any means using the contact information provided at the bottom of this policy.
We may update this policy from time to time by publishing a new version on our website. Visitors should check this page occasionally to ensure they are happy with any changes to this policy. For those that we hold contact information for, and have consented, any changes to this policy will be emailed to them.
This policy was last updated on 24th May 2018.
